The twins were both breach so a c-section was scheduled for January 8th at 12pm. Stephanie and the twins had some contrary ideas however.
Stephanie's water broke at 4am and she went into labor. This is rather funny because about 8 hours before Shane was scheduled for induction she did the same thing!

Stephanie was able to labor for a good 4.5 hours. We really enjoyed this as we were able to put all of our great Bradley Method class learning into
practical action! Stephanie was amazing as she relaxed and let the contractions do their work. Needless to say our 12pm c-section became a 9am c-section!

Wyatt Percival Sutton was born at 9:15 am. He was 6 pounds and 5 ounces and 19" long. He had a 9/10 Apgar score. One of the nurses insisted it
should have been a 10, but I was told they never give out tens. In either case. Wyatt was very healthy and of course pee'd all over me as soon as he was able :).

Amelia Lynn Sutton was born at 9:16 am. She was 5 pounds and 12 ounces and also 19" long. She had an 8/9 Apgar score, but she had a much harder time transitioning. Her breathing was very labored and that concerned the doctors. Not quite enough to send her to the NICU, but she had to stay in the nursery for 5 hours before they would let her come to our room and get some skin to skin contact with Stephanie. While she
improved each hour after she was born, her breathing didn't become normal until she got that skin to skin contact with her Mama!

After all that Amelia had some catching up to do. She lost quite a bit of weight and the doctors were freaking out about that. I personally

So we "carb loaded" her with Stephanie's milk and supplemental formula to ensure that she started gaining weight instead of losing so we could all get out of the hospital where people get so antsy about numbers, weight gain, and to ensure that Amelia was healthy and happy when she was released :). They went to their first Doctor's appointment yesterday and got clean bills
of health from our family doctor.

Now we are one big happy family. Shane wasn't allowed to even set foot in the hospital due to the H1N1 insanity (overly panicked anyone?). So
finally four days after they were born he got to meet "his babies" as he calls them.

The dogs are ecstatic about the new additions. Odin is his usual nursemaid self. Any crying from the babies means that Odin will get our attention
and lead us to the babies to take care of a feeding/diaper/etc... Our cat Stinky, who long ago had a false pregnancy and actually nursed another kitten, laid down in a nursing position after nuzzling both twins to wake them up.

Shane loves on the babies and watches them very carefully for any signs that they may be playing with him.
Grandma "Lala" and Grammie Meggy have been totally amazing with helping us out at the house during all of this. Shane barley missed us while we were at the hospital! Thanks for all your prayers and encouragement! We are so happy and excited.
