We took Shane to visit Great Grams in Sante Fe, NM. Grammy Meggy grew up in Rociada, NM which is about an hour and half from Sante Fe. We flew out Friday morning and had a long lay over in Denver, CO. So Shane got to see mama's mountains from afar. Shane did very well on the plane. He just sat in the sling or on mama's lap and had a great old time. The first flight he slept through the whole thing. On the next one he was awake for the take off and landing but he was very intently watching Dada to see how he should react. It is amazing how much he takes his cues from us. If we are relaxed and calm he will pretty much be that way (unless there is a dirty diaper involved). We stayed in a beautiful condo-like place close to the foothills in Sante Fe and arrived there around 7:30 Friday night. We had a pack and play crib brought to our room and mama and dada got a nice king sized bed! It was very roomie for all of us when Shane was nursing. Grammy Meggy got her own room in with us and had her own bathroom too. Grandpa Steve really wold have liked our unit but he stayed home to enjoy his first flying lesson! Saturday was very leisurely and we finally got to see Great Grams (my mom's mother) around noon. She was of course just enamored with Shane and thought he was the most wonderful baby ever (even more wonderful than mama).

After we played at Great Grams place for a while Uncle Augie and Aunt Pat came over and we all went to dinner at a nice little Mexican restaurant. It was a pretty early dinner so we relaxed back at the room after that. Dada even got to play D&D over skype with his friends that night. Sunday morning we left for Rociada so Shane and Dada could see where Grammy Meggy grew up. We got to walk through the home that used to belong to Great Uncle Ed. It has been added on to and is really big now. The ranch is still a working ranch and the care taker, Matthew trains horses in the old corrals. There was even a really nice horse that came to meet Shane.

On Memorial Day we were flying out of Albuquerque at 4:30pm so that gave us plenty of time to visit with mama's good friend Erin. She had just gotten back from oversees performing with a theater company. She was playing her fiddle with a small band for the music. We got to spend the moring talking with her and then we met Aunt Pat at Dion's with Erin for lunch. It was great to be able to spend so much time talking with Auntie Erin.
